ANIPLUS Asia has announced on Monday that it will simulcast the all-new season of The Rising of the Shield Hero for the upcoming Winter 2019 season.
The Rising of the Shield Hero will premiere on Wednesday, January 9 at 11:00 PM with the premiere episode as a 1-hour special.
The is series is based on the popular fantasy novel by Aneko Yusagi, which has sold over 3.3 million copies .

Through a chanced encounter with a book at the library, ordinary university student Naofumi Iwatani is summoned to another world, where the legend of the four Legendary Heroes of Sword, Sphere, Bow and Shield presides. As the destined Shield Hero, he must overcome all odds and go up against the chaos-bringer known as the “Waves”.
This is ANIPLUS Asia’s fourth simulcast anime for Winter 2019 apart from Boogiepop and Others, Kemono Friends 2, B-Project ~Zeccho*Emotion~ and The Promised Neverland.
ANIPLUS Asia is available in the Philippines on Skycable Channel 139, EASY TV digital top box Channel 10 and over-the-top video streaming site Sky-on-Demand.
