SEGA Genesis Mini is coming to PH

Epicsoft Asia Pte. Ltd. announced on Thursday that they will be bringing the SEGA Genesis Mini to countries in Southeast Asia including the Philippines.

The retro mini console is set to release in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines on September 19, 2019, same time as the rest of the world. It will be priced at PHP 4,590.

The SEGA Genesis Mini aims to recreate the most notable gaming experiences from the past. The mini console is 55% smaller than the original SEGA Genesis and it comes with various replica ports and a sliding volume control. Apart from the unit, it will also include 2 USB-connected controllers, HDMI Cable and Power Cable.

The console will come pre-loaded with 42 classic games that were developed originally for the SEGA Genesis, including:

  • Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse

The release of this console is significant for SEGA, which gave birth to game characters like Sonic the Hedgehog© during the 16-bit videogames era.

Pre-orders have started at all retail partner outlets in the Philippines as well as countries in the Southeast Asia region. Online pre-orders will be made available closer to the date of the launch.
