New “Cardcaptor Sakura” anime is coming to Yey! this June

ABS-CBN’s Yey! channel unveiled on Tuesday that a new Cardcaptor Sakura anime series will be shown on the channel this June.

A promotional video for the channel’s offering this June announces several anime and tokusatsu series, which includes the return of Samurai X and Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card.

Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card will premiere on Monday, June 29, airing Monday to Friday at 6 PM on YeY’s All YeY Anime block.

Cardcaptor Sakura is based on a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by the manga group Clamp. The Clear Card arc is a sequel to original series and focuses on the protagonist Sakura Kinomoto in junior high school.

The original anime series first aired in Japan in 1998.  The series aired on Philippine television as part of ABS-CBN’s afternoon programming in 2001. Yey!

YeY! is available on Skycable CH 1 and ABS-CBN TVPlus.
