New ‘Higurashi: When They Cry’ anime to simulcast on Ani-One YouTube channel

Ani-One Asia announced on Saturday its plan to simulcast upcoming slice of life anime series “Higurashi: When They Cry” this October.

The series will be streamed starting October 1 at 11:30 PM via the Ani-One Asia Youtube channel. It will be available in Macau, Taiwan, some countries in the South Asia and Southeast Asia region, including the Philippines.

Higurashi: When They Cry is based on a series of eight sound novels by 07th Expansion. It was first adapted into a 26-episode anime series, which premiered Summer 2006.

The new series is directed by Keiichirou Kawaguchi, featuring character designs from Akio Watanabe. It will be produced by Passione, which previously worked on other anime titles such as Ishuzoku Reviewers, Citrus and High School DxD Hero.

The lead voice actors will also return to reprise their roles in the series.
