“Rurouni Kenshin: The Final” live action film will be released on June 18 on Netflix in the Philippines.
This is according to a recent video at the official Netflix Philippines Youtube channel. The video lists Netflix’s upcoming shows and film for the month of June.
“Rurouni Kenshin: The Final” premiered in Japan on April 23, followed by the sequel “The Beginning” on June 4.
The original cast including Takeru Satoh as Kenshin Himura, Emi Takei as Kaoru Kamiya, Munetaka Aoki as Sanosuke Sagara will reprise their roles in the film.
The two films will cover the original manga’s Jinchu arc, which features a new villain, a mysterous weapon dealer named Enichi played by Mackenyu Arata. It will also tell the origin story of Kenshin Himura’s cross-shaped scar in his cheek.
Early May, Netflix announced that the two films will be released in select territories in Asia, including Taiwan, Malaysia and Singapore. The films are expected to release on Netflix in the later half of this year.
