The Philippines is set to host its first-ever convention of everything about Tokusatsu.
Tokusatsu is a Japanese term that refers to live-action film or television shows that heavily feature special effects, such as those used in superhero or monster films. It is a genre that has gained popularity both within Japan and internationally, particularly in the form of the long-running franchise “Super Sentai”.
The event, which is being organized by TokuSpirits, a community of Toku fans, promises to be an exciting celebration of Toku culture, featuring panel discussions, live performances, cosplayers, merchandisers, and more. The convention will bring together Toku actors/actresses from both earlier and newer generations, offering a unique opportunity for fans to meet and greet their favorite Toku stars.
The Manila TokuSpirits 2023 Convention will take place on September 16-17, 2023, at SM Megamall Megatrade Halls, Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila, Philippines.
