Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning, the latest anime film based on the Digimon franchise, will arrive in Philippine cinemas on November 25.
A fan screening of the movie has been listed on the “Coming Soon” page of SM Cinema.
The movie is a follow-up to the Digimon Adventure 02 series, which ran from 2000 to 2001 and introduced a new batch of DigiDestined. The plot centers on the origin of the DigiDestined and their connection with their partner Digimon.
The film starts in 2012 when a huge Digitama appears above Tokyo Tower and sends a message to the world: “May everyone in the world have friends. May they each have a Digimon.” Daisuke and his friends are then faced by Lui Ohwada, a young man with a damaged DIGIVICE. Lui’s secret wish is behind the birth of the DigiDestined, but it also unleashes the biggest crisis in Digimon history. Daisuke and the “02” team must make a tough choice as they join forces as adults.
Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning will debut in Japan on October 27, and will feature the original voice cast of the Digimon Adventure 02 series. Some of the voice actors are Fukujurou Katayama as Daisuke Motomiya, Junko Noda as V-Mon, Arthur Lounsbery as Ken Ichijouji, Romi Park as Digimon Kaiser, Taisuke Yamamoto as Takeru Takaishi, and Kae Araki as Hikari Yagami. The film is directed by Tomohisa Taguchi, who also directed the previous film Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna.
