One Piece Film: Red Remastered coming to the PH this December

The remastered edition of One Piece Film: Red, the latest and most successful movie in the franchise, is set to hit the Philippines this December. The film will have a fan screening on December 9, 2023, at SM Megamall, where attendees will receive various One Piece goodies. The film will also have a nationwide release on December 13, as confirmed by SM Cinema on its official Facebook page.

The film is based on the 4K edition that was also used for the Blu-ray release, and it set a new record as the highest-grossing One Piece movie when it premiered in Japan last year.

The film follows the Straw Hat Pirates as they attend the first live concert of Uta, the most beloved singer in the world who hides her true identity. However, they soon discover that Uta is the daughter of Shanks, one of the Four Emperors of the Sea and Luffy’s idol.

One Piece Film: Red is the 15th movie in the long-running anime and manga series created by Eiichiro Oda. The series follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, a young pirate who dreams of becoming the King of the Pirates and finding the legendary treasure One Piece.

The film was directed by Gorou Taniguchi, scripted by Tsutomu Kuroiwa, and character designed by Masayuki Satou. Eiichiro Oda served as the general producer and original story creator. The film also featured a popular soundtrack, with some of the songs receiving highly-viewed animated music videos.
