MATSURI 2025 brings Japan’s Biggest Cultural Celebration to Manila

Japanese culture takes center stage as MATSURI 2025, the country’s largest Japanese-themed festival, arrives at Quirino Grandstand on May 10–11, 2025. Spearheaded by OtaCutE Event DAO, known for past hits like OtaCute Cosplay Festival and JAPANIGHT, the two-day celebration highlights the cultural synergy between Japan and the Philippines.

Live performances lead the entertainment lineup, featuring a fusion of Japanese and Filipino talents. Headlining is Filipino artist James Reid alongside Maki Otsuki, iconic for her work on the One Piece soundtrack. Also performing are bands LILY, SKYGARDEN, and artists FuMi, FAIRY TALES with PENTA, TOKYO OTOME DAIKO, GONZO, and ENISHI. Renowned DJs such as DJ Sigrid, DJ Bandit, NICDROID, and SUKIMA ALTERA add to the festival’s energy.

A wide range of guests will appear throughout the weekend, including Ruunachu, Zackt. & Roxanne, Charess, Maria Ozawa, Myrtle Sarrosa, Een, and Kitz, among others.

MATSURI 2025 promises immersive cultural attractions, including a cosplay contest, kimono fashion show, karaoke contest, car drift show, and side gaming events.
