Mamoru Hosoda’s ‘Scarlet’ to Premiere in Philippine Cinemas This December

The latest anime film from Japanese director Mamoru Hosoda, Scarlet, is scheduled to be released in Philippine cinemas on December 10, Columbia Pictures announced in a press release. The film will open November 21 in Japan.

The film follows a princess who travels across space and time to avenge the death of her father. Additional plot details have not yet been disclosed.

Hosoda is known for directing several animated films, including Belle (2021), The Boy and the Beast (2015), Wolf Children (2012), Summer Wars (2009), and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (2006). His 2018 film Mirai received nominations for Best Animated Feature at the Academy Awards, Golden Globe Awards, and Critics’ Choice Awards.

No additional information has been provided regarding ticket availability or special screenings.

Scarlet will open in cinemas nationwide starting December 10.
