Filipino cosplayer wins second place at the C2E2 2017 Crown Championships of Cosplay

Filipina cosplayer Erika Jean Garbin bags second place in the recently concluded 2017 Crown Championships of Cosplay competition during the  Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2) held last April 21-23, 2017.

For this competition, she cosplayed as the Astalos Female Gunner from the game Monster Hunter.

Prior to C2E2, she was the 2016 Grand Champion for the Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention (STGCC) Championships of Cosplay. She has also won several cosplay competitions including the Hero Face Off 2013 Grand Champion, making her one of the official representatives of the Philippines for the prestigious World Cosplay Summit of the same year.

The Grand Champion of the 2017 Crown Championships of Cosplay is Okkido Cosplay from Hungary cosplaying as the Ordo Hereticus Inquisitor. Third place went to Brittani Ginoza dressed as Blood Elf Priest. The three winners split $10,000 in cash and prizes.

The C2E2 Crown Championships of Cosplay is a craftsmanship award show for creative and passionate cosplayers to show off their hard work and talent. Countries represented include the United States, Australia, China, Austria, Singapore, Indonesia, and France
