A Bigger, Better and Bolder the Best of Anime 2018

One of the most anticipated anime conventions in the Philippines is now on its 9th year! Expect the biggest guest performers from Japan,  most awaited  cosplayers, awesome activities and surprise come forth to this year’s the Best of Anime, which is slated on August 25-26, 2018 at the SMX Convention Center Manila.

This year, the event will be graced by sought after international cosplayers. Among them are Hyko and Mon from Taiwan, which are both coming for the first time in the country. Returning for the second time at the event is Thai cosplayer Onnies .

Rocking the convention stage will be the all-time favorite J-pop idol group STARMARIE, visual kei band AN CAFE and digital rock singer VALSHE and music producer Kors K!

Currently in the top spot of a renowned cosplay site, Hyko has captivated to the world with her undaunted charisma. She is known from portraying popular personalities and anime characters such as singer Gackt, Ren Jingui of Uta no Prince-sama and Kogetsunemaru of Touken Ranbu. 

Another Taiwanese cosplayer will exude both her charm and charisma in the event. Mon can easily transform from one character to another with her talent in make-up. She became known in the cosplay world with her portrayal of Diamond from Land of Lustrous, Rem and Emila of Re:Zero and Tsuyu of My Hero Academia.

Famous for her characterization of Eli Ayase of LoveLive! and Misa of Death Note, Thai most popular cosplayer, Onnies is coming back at the Best of Anime stage this year.

Self-produced idol group, Aidoru Sozai, will perform live at the Best of Anime 2018. Jash, Aira, Vivi, Yanachii, Mikachu, Hayayan and Saachan are aspiring indie idols, preparing their own original self-made tracks to perform onstage. 

Jpop lolita idol group STARMARIE will once again take the Best of Anime stage this year. Composed of Nozomi, Shino, Monya, Hiroka and Kaede, STARMARIE continues to rise to fame with their song, “Natsuninare!”, the ending theme song of the anime series “Cardfight!! Vanguard G: Next”.

Another act that will bring the party to the convention stage is Kors K. This musician from Japan rose to fame when he participated in the hit music game “Beatmania”. Now, Kors K is known as a music producer, artist, and DJ. Since then, he has contributed to multiple anime-related songs, J-Pop remixes, and has released through both domestic Japanese labels as well as multiple International labels, totalling over 500 tracks released since he started creating music.

This year’s much anticipated Ongaku Fest will have two back to back acts featuring the performance of two Japanese artists, An Cafe and Valshe.

An Cafe skyrocketed to fame with their unique sound and exciting performances! Famous for singing the second opening song of Darker than Black Season 1, Kakusei Heroism ~The Hero without a Name~, watch Miku, Kanon, Teruki, Takuya and Yu-ki as they bring you to a world of music and style.

On the other hand, Valshe, is a digital rock singer and is well known as a “Ryouseirui” (“both voice types”), as she is capable of singing both male and female voice. She sung Butterly Core, 37th opening theme song of Detective Conan and Kimi e no Uso, 49th ending theme song of the same anime.
