The second Stand By Me Doraemon anime film will be shown in Philippine cinemas starting February 26.
SM Cinema announced on Tuesday that the 3D animated film will be screened starting this Friday at select cinema branches. It includes SM Cinema branches in Bacoor, Baguio, Baliwag, Cabanatuan, CDO Downtown, Calamba, Clark, Iloilo, Marilao, Naga, Olongapo Central, Sta. Rosa, Taytay, Mindpro, Bacolod and Cauayan.
Last February 20, the film got a fan screening in SM Bacoor.
Apart from the Philippines, the film is also set to open in Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, and Indonesia.
Stand by Me Doraemon 2 is a Japanese animated film based on Fujiko Fujio’s Doraemon manga and sequel to the 2014 film Stand by Me Doraemon. It is largely based on the manga chapter “Grandma’s Memories”.
The film was originally scheduled for released on August 8 in Japan but was later postponed indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was released in November 2020.
The first film opened in the Philippines in June 2015.
