Prepare to be moved as the highly-acclaimed YA romantic drama anime film “The Tunnel to Summer, The Exit of Goodbyes” hits SM Cinemas exclusively starting November 1.
The storyline follows the characters Kaoru and Anzu, voiced by Ouji Suzuka and Marie Iitoyo, along with a supporting cast including Tasuku Hatanaka, Arisa Komiya, Haruka Terui, Rikiya Koyama, and Seiran Kobayashi.
This film, which recently earned the esteemed Paul Grimault Prize at the Annecy International Animation Festival, draws inspiration from Mei Hachimoku’s award-winning novel, complemented by Kukka’s illustrations. Kaoru wishes to reverse the untimely passing of his sister, while Anzu seeks relief from her painful past. Together, they confront the profound question of whether their wishes are worth the cost.
This anime production has received praise from both audiences and critics, boasting a 100% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Viewers worldwide, including Japan, have appreciated its stylish visuals, voice acting, sound design, well-constructed storyline, and a poignant soundtrack.
