Voice actress and singer Nako Misaki brings both vulnerability and strength to her work in I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince Season 2, voicing the character Lami and performing the ending theme “Meteor.”
Misaki said she was immediately drawn to the emotions behind Lami’s rage. “At first, she seemed to be raging, but I realized she was struggling in pain,” she shared. With few spoken lines, Misaki focused on channeling emotions through Lami’s growls, hoping to reveal the humanity buried beneath the character’s suffering.
Her favorite yet most challenging moment came when Lami regains her senses and says, “I’m human.” Misaki recalled needing several takes to capture the fragile emotion of someone speaking after a long silence. “It was a moment of awakening,” she said, describing how she aimed to make that line feel like a breath of life.
That emotional understanding carried into “Meteor.” Misaki performed the song simply, without heavy adornment, to mirror Lami’s journey from chaos to calm. “I imagined Lami listening to ‘Meteor’ and finally being able to sleep peacefully,” she said.
Through both roles, Nako Misaki discovered a new form of expression, quiet yet deeply resonant. “I learned the beauty of restraint,” she reflected. “It’s not always about expanding range but expressing small, honest joys.”
