Bon Odori 2025 @ Cebu

The biggest Japanese cultural event in the Philippines is back in Cebu!
The Japanese Association has announced that the Bon Odori 2025, with the theme “Inori” or Prayer for Peace, will be taking place on May 24-25 at the Puregold Open Lot in North Reclamation Area, Mandaue City.
The Bon Odori is a traditional Japanese folk dance performed during the Obon Festival as a way to honor ancestors.
In Cebu, this has become a big cultural event that has started since 2014. Aside from the vendors, stalls, and various competitions, one of the main highlight of the event is the Bon Odori dance that is characterized by rhythmic movements and the participation of everyone in the event.
In a Facebook post by the Japanese Association, the Bon Odori 2025 is a way to promote friendly exchanges between Japan and the Philippines.
