Property developer Ayala Land Inc., and Mitsubishi Corp. have formed a joint venture to open the first Japan-themed commercial complex in the Philippines.
The 2,500-square-meter commercial complex which will be located on the rooftop of Glorietta mall in Makati City, will house several restaurants and food stalls that serves authentic Japanese dishes and drinks. Hallohallo Inc. will be selecting the restaurants and shops coming from Japan.
It will also house a Cool Japan Shop, which will sell original and high-quality Japanese good including anime-related items from Animate and cosmetics products from @cosme.
The facility will also feature a stage area to be run by digital creative firm teamLab Inc. The area can host shows and music events including the upcoming performances of female idol group MNL48, the Philippine version of Japan’s AKB48.
The first Japan-themed commercial complex is set to open as early as fourth quarter of this year.
