“Agent Carter star” Hayley Atwell cancels appearance at ComicCon Asia 2018

Agent Carter star Hayley Atwell is no longer coming to Manila for ComicCon Asia 2018 this March.

“I’m so sorry to be missing the convention in Manila this weekend. I was looking forward to visiting your beautiful country and meeting you all,” Atwell said in her Instagram last Thursday.

She also said that the changes in her work schedule made it impossible for her to travel so far at this time.

“You will hear more about these projects soon and I’m excited to share them when I can,” she announced.

“I hope to see you at future conventions soon. Magkaroon ng isang magandang weekend,” she ended.

Atwell is known for her role as Peggy Carter in the first two Captain America movies. She also appeared in 2015 live-action remake of “Cinderella” as Ella’s mother and lately she is cast in the upcoming Christopher Robin film.

ComicCon Asia has initially announced that Atwell cancelled her appearance due to “perceived political unrest in the country.”

ComicCon Asia 2018 will be held on March 24 to 25 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City. For more information, visit the ComicCon Asia website or the official Facebook page.
