AsiaPOP Comicon Manila, initially scheduled on August 2-4, has been postponed to next year according to a statement released by its organizers on Thursday.

The official statement was released after a report of the convention’s postponement hit the internet due to an email sent to one of the convention’s creative circle artists.

In the statement, the organizers cite partners’ organization restructuring and multiple conflicting event happening during the couple weeks before and at the same time as the event’s original dates.

‘The delay in this communication was purely in our intent to try our best to be able to secure the best of content for this year’s event, but the schedules of various partners did not match our dates,’ the statement further said.

AsiaPOP Comicon (APCC) is described as an international pop culture convention themed around comics, toys, animation, film, television and music within the pop culture phenomena.

Japanese artists such as Shoji Kawamori and Serena Kozuki have previously attended the event as guests.
