Japanese company Toei announced on Thursday that they will launch a YouTube channel for tokusatsu shows and anime series from the 1960s to the 1990.
The ‘Toei Tokusatsu World Official’ Youtube channel will start uploading episodes of 70 classic shows such as National Kid, Gorenger, Space Cop Gavan and Voltes V on Monday, April 6.
Other shows in the list includes Captain Ultra, Yokai Bugeicho, JAKQ, Dear Robottie!, Message from Space, Space Sheriff Sharivan, Poitrine, Chanzerion, Daltanius and Daimos.
The shows will be available worldwide outside of Japan but depending on the show, there may be viewing limitations in certain areas and countries.
The first two episodes of all 70 shows will be subtitled in English. Subsequent episodes will not have English subtitles but they plan to make “a public call for subtitles in any language.”
The Japanese word Tokusatsu is a term for live action film or television drama that makes heavy use of miniatures, costumes, CG, and special effects.
