Netflix streams trailer for new anime film ‘A Whisker Away’

Netflix Philippines on Friday started streaming the trailer for the upcoming anime film “A Whisker Away” on its Youtube channel.

The film is set to premiere globally to the streaming site on July 18.

Known in Japanese as Nakitai Watashi wa Neko wo Kaburu, the film centers on Miyo Sasaki, a second-year junior high student who has fallen in love with her classmate Kento Hinote. Despite her repeated efforts to get Kento’s attention, he takes no notice of her and her only way to get close to him is to transform into a cat.

Sailor Moon director Junichi Sato, with Tomotaka Shibayama is directing the film with Mari Okada writing the script. Okada wrote the script for “Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day” and “The Anthem of the Heart”

The film is produced by Studio Colorido, whose latest works include Penguin Highway, Burn the Witch and Pokemon: Twilight Wings (ONA).

‘A Whisker Away’ was originally scheduled to open on June 5 but it was postponed due to COVID-19.
