Netflix unveils additional casts for upcoming Yu Yu Hakusho live-action series

Netflix announced additional cast members for the upcoming live-action adaptation of the legendary manga Yu Yu Hakusho.

Kanata Hongo (Kingdom, Attack on Titan) will be taking on the role of Hiei (also known locally as Vincent) while Shuhei Uesugi will be playing Kazuma Kuwabara (AKA Alfred).

Yu Yu Hakusho will be premiering worldwide and only on Netflix in December 2023.

The series is based on the legendary Japanese manga of the same name by Yoshihiro Togashi, which was originally serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (published by Shueisha as Jump Comics) starting in 1990. The manga is considered a fan favorite and has sold over 50 million copies in Japan alone.

It tells the story of Yusuke (known by Filipinos as Eugene), a teenage delinquent who is struck and killed by a car while attempting to save a child’s life. Yusuke is granted a second chance to return from the dead, in return, he must take on the job as a Spirit Detective.

The series was shown locally in the 90s.
