Rurouni Kenshin gets 2 new live-action movies in 2020

Nobuhiro Watsuki’s popular manga series ‘Rurouni Kenshin’ will be getting two new live-action movies in Summer 2020.

Following the announcement in the film’ official Twitter account, Warner Bros. Japan released a new website to commemorate the upcoming movies.

The titles of the two upcoming movies are yet to be announced, but it will be covering the Jinchu arc of the original manga and the 1999 original video animation, ‘Trust & Betrayal’.

The films will still be directed by Keishi Otomo, with the main role of Kenshin played by the original actor Takeru Satoh.

Warner Bros. Japan has yet to announce if the films are for international release.

The first ‘Rurouni Kenshin’ live action movie was shown in the Philippines in December 2012. The sequel films, Kyoto Inferno and The Legend Ends were released after two years. According to Boxoffice Mojo, the three films earned a total box office amounting to USD 4 million in the Philippines.
