“Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Train” coming to theaters in SEA in 2021

The upcoming “Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train” anime film will be released to theaters in countries in the Southeast Asia region January or February 2021.

Odex Private Limited Managing Director Peter Go unveiled their “Cinema release plan” for the film during a panel at AFA Station Festival Online. The 2021 release schedule is for the film’s general screening. Go explained that the delay was due to the number of Hollywood movies scheduled for release on the last quarter of 2020.

UPDATE: Odex releases tentative release date for “Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Train” movie

The film is set for release on October 16, 2020 in Japan.

The company is also planning for two Fan screenings – one scheduled to release on October and one set next year with Japan imports. The film’s general screening is scheduled after the second fan screening.

Kimetsu no Yaiba Movie: Mugen Train is based on the manga series Demon Slayer:Kimetsu no Yaiba by Koyoharu Gotouge and it is the direct sequel to the anime series.

The film’s official website tells the story as follows:

Tanjiro and the group have completed their rehabilitation training at the Butterfly Mansion, and they arrive to their next mission on the Mugen Train, where over 40 people have disappeared in a very short period of time.
