“Horimiya” is based on Hori-san to Miyamura-kun web-comic series written and illustrated by HERO.

Masashi Ishihama, who previously worked on PERSONA 5 the Animation directed the series while Takao Yoshioka adapted the script. Haruko Iizuka was handling the character design. Studio CloverWorks produced the anime. Prior to the anime series, four different OVAs were released.

The official website describes the story as follow:

Kyoko Hori, a popular and flashy gal in her class, and Isumi Miyamura, a dark and unobtrusive otaku.
One day, the two of them, who are not supposed to meet, happen to know each other’s secrets.
The distance between the two men, who became “secret sharers”, rapidly shrinks, even as they are surprised at the gap between the two.

The series premiered in Japan last January, while Ani-One Asia brought the series to Southeast Asia last February.
