Netflix unveiled the official trailer and premiere date for the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 spin-off anime series Cyberpunk: Edgerunner.
The series is coming to the streaming platform in September 2022.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunner tells a standalone, 10-episode story about a street kid trying to survive in Night City — a technology and body modification-obsessed city of the future. Having everything to lose, he stays alive by becoming an edge runner — a mercenary outlaw also known as cyberpunk.
Hiroyuki Imaishi will direct the series along with creative director Hiromi Wakabayashi, character designer, and animation director Yoh Yoshinari, and the adapted screenplay by Yoshiki Usa and Masahiko Otsuka. The original score will be composed by Akira Yamaoka.
Studio Trigger will be producing the anime series.
