GMA Network released today a new teaser for its live-action adaptation of the anime classic “Voltes V.”
The teaser gave a glimpse of the main characters in their costumes and “volting” in to become the iconic robot.
It was also announced that the series will premiere in 2023.
Voltes V: Legacy is based on a Japanese anime series produced by Toei and Nippon Sunrise. It revolves around five human pilots of the titular giant robot, which is humanity’s last life of defense against an armada of horned humanoid aliens known as Boazanians.
The cast includes Miguel Tanfelix as Steve Armstrong, Ysabel Ortega as Jamie Robinson, Radson Flores as Mark Gordon, Matt Lozano as Big Bert, and Raphael Landicho as Little Jon.
Martin del Rosario will portray the main villain Prince Zardos while Liezel Lopez will play Zandra.
The anime series first aired in the Philippines on GMA 7 in 1978. In 1999, GMA 7 re-aired the Filipino dubbed edition of the show.
