This film, which recently earned the esteemed Paul Grimault Prize at the Annecy International Animation Festival, draws inspiration from Mei Hachimoku’s award-winning novel, complemented by Kukka’s illustrations. Tomohisa Taguchi takes the director’s chair, while Tomomi Yabuki serves as the character designer and chief animation director, all under the CLAP production banner.

Kaoru wishes to reverse the untimely passing of his sister, while Anzu seeks relief from her painful past. Together, they confront the profound question of whether their wishes are worth the cost.

This anime production has received praise from both audiences and critics, boasting a 100% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Viewers worldwide, including Japan, have appreciated its stylish visuals, voice acting, sound design, well-constructed storyline, and a poignant soundtrack.
