Jurina Matsui, former member of AKB48 and SKE48, will take on the role of player manager for AKB48’s first sister group in Malaysia, KLP48.

KLP48, AKB48’s newest sister group, was announced on January 1, 2024, and is set to debut in August 2024. Jurina Matsui, the only person to have won the International Senbatsu General Election, will bring her extensive experience to the group. Matsui, who joined AKB48 at 11 years old, has remained a central figure in the group’s history until her graduation in 2021.

KLP48 management expressed their gratitude to Matsui for accepting the role. They look forward to her guidance and leadership both on and off the stage. Matsui is expected to share her insights and perform with the group, inspiring members to strive for global success.

The management team aims to position KLP48 as the top idol group worldwide, with Kuala Lumpur as their base. The selection process for group members is in its final stages, and the debut is highly anticipated.

KLP48 can be followed through their official website and social media channels.
