Netflix and Riot Games have released a teaser and new images for the second and final chapter of “Arcane,” the acclaimed animated series set in the “League of Legends” universe. According to Christian Linke, the series will conclude with its second season, wrapping up the story that began in the first chapter. Linke emphasized that “Arcane” is only the start of a broader storytelling initiative in partnership with Fortiche Animation.
The final chapter centers on the escalating conflict between Piltover and Zaun, triggered by Jinx’s attack on the Council. The Emmy Award-winning series returns in November, exclusively on Netflix.
“Arcane” is created by Christian Linke and Alex Yee, with Linke, Marc Merrill, and Brandon Beck serving as executive producers. The series is produced by Fortiche Animation. The voice cast includes Hailee Steinfeld as Vi, Ella Purnell as Jinx, Katie Leung as Caitlyn, Reed Shannon as Ekko, Amirah Vann as Sevika, Mick Wingert as Heimerdinger, Ellen Thomas as Ambessa, and Brett Tucker as Singed, with more voices to be announced.
Season one of “Arcane” established Netflix as a leader in adapting video game franchises into animated series. Praised as one of the best TV shows of 2021, it won four Primetime Emmy Awards in 2022, including Outstanding Animated Program, making it the first streaming series to achieve this honor. The series also dominated the 2022 Annie Awards with nine wins, including Best TV/Media, Best Writing, Best Voice Acting, and Best Direction. Additionally, “Arcane” won Best Adaptation at The Game Awards 2022, and its album was nominated for a 2022 Billboard Music Award for Top Soundtrack.
“Arcane” season two returns this November on Netflix.
