Anime Festival Asia returns to Jakarta for 2025 Edition this June

Anime Festival Asia (AFA), Southeast Asia’s premier Japanese pop culture event, returns to Jakarta Convention Center from June 6 to 8 for its ninth Indonesian edition.

Organized by SOZO Pte Ltd., AFAID25 brings together anime, music, games, and cosplay in a large-scale celebration. Since its inception in 2008, AFA has welcomed over 2.3 million fans across 30+ events in six cities.

AFAID25 will feature three core zones: Akiba Town, Day Stage, and Night Concerts. The Akiba Town exhibition will host leading Japanese brands and creators, while the Day Stage offers talk shows and exclusive anime premieres. The Night Concerts will include the I LOVE ANISONG festival, showcasing artists like Daoko, DEMONDICE, Eir Aoi, KAF, Liyuu, TeddyLoid, and towana from fhána.

Highlights include:

  • Music of Studio Ghibli with Yoshikazu Mera, Sumi Shimamoto, Azumi Inoue, and the TOKYO ASIA Orchestra.
  • Premiere screenings of TOUGEN ANKI and DAN DA DAN.
  • Appearances by voice actors Shion Wakayama, Kazuki Ura, and Yuuki Kuwahara.
  • Guest cosplayers Baobao, Thames Malerose, Weian Vann, and YingTze.
  • Interactive zones like GameOn!, Creators Hub, and the new Community Hub.

Special exhibits will spotlight MIKU EXPO 10th Anniversary, Crunchyroll’s Fire Force Season 3, MANGAPlus, and Bocchi the Rock! pop-up store. Akiba Stage returns for its 10th year, while the AFA Lounge debuts with immersive attractions.

Creators Hub will also launch Asia Creators Cross (ACC), a cultural exchange with Japan’s Niconico Chokaigi. Cosplayer YingTze will represent Southeast Asia at the Tokyo event, while Japanese artists MOMOE and Kou will exhibit in Jakarta.

Early bird and VIP tickets go on sale April 14 at 12:00 WIB via https://animefestival.asia/afaid25/ticketing. Two-day VIP packages start at Rp 2,000,000.
