The first Crayon Shin-chan 3DCG film premieres Oct 20 in PH

Fans of the popular anime and manga series Crayon Shin-chan will be able to see their favorite characters in a new dimension. The first 3DCG film of the franchise, New Dimension! Crayon Shin-chan the Movie Super-Powered Climactic Battle: Soaring Hand-Rolled Sushi, will open in the Philippines on October 20.

The film follows the adventures of Shinnosuke, a mischievous kindergartener who gains telekinetic powers after a mysterious white light from space passes through Earth. He becomes Japan’s new hero as he faces off against Mitsuru Hiriya, a man who also received psychic abilities from a black light and plans to destroy the world.

New Dimension! Crayon Shin-chan the Movie Super-Powered Climactic Battle: Soaring Hand-Rolled Sushi is the 31st installment of the Crayon Shin-chan series, which has been running since 1990. It took seven years to produce, from the planning stages to the animation process. The director and screenplay writer is Hitoshi Ōne, who has worked on several live-action films such as Akihabara @ DEEP, Bakuman, and many more. The animation studio is Shirogumi Inc., which has created 3DCG works for various media.

The previous film in the series, “Eiga Crayon Shin-chan Mononoke Ninja Chinpūden” debuted in Japan in April 2022, instantly claiming the #2 spot at the box office during its opening weekend.
